His valuable insights, advice, and contributions have been important in developing the journal to what it is today.

This role has been but one of many professional responsibilities that he has taken on since the completion of his PhD in Comparative Education from The University of Durham (1988) dawning the beginning of his distinguished career and contributions to the field of Comparative and international education. To name but a few of his achievements, in 1994 he founded the Comparative Education Research Centre at the University of Hong Kong, followed by the establishment of the Comparative Education Society of Asia in 1995. In 2010 Professor Lee was elected President of the World Council of Comparative Education Societies.
