Guidelines:
- Abstract (structured or unstructured)
- Introduction: Briefly summarizes why this case is unique and may include medical literature references.
- Case presentation:
- Patient Information De-identified patient specific information; Primary concerns and symptoms of the patient; Past interventions and their outcomes (if relevant).
- Clinical findings: Describe significant important clinical and imaging findings.
- Diagnostic assessment: Diagnostic methods; Diagnostic challenges; Other diagnoses considered (if applicable); Prognostic characteristics (when applicable);
- Therapeutic intervention: Types of therapeutic intervention; Changes in therapeutic interventions (if applicable).
- Follow-up and outcomes: Important follow-up diagnostic and other test results; Adverse and unanticipated events (if applicable).
- Discussion
- Limitations in the approach to the case.
- Discussion of the relevant medical literature.
- Conclusion: The primary “take-away” lessons from this case report.
Knowledge Management Series
Technical developments provide a brief description and results of new imaging techniques, procedures, or equipment.
Reviews
The same guidelines as for reserch articles.
Tutorials
The main criteria for acceptance are accessibility and potential benefit to the field. Even though some tutorials may be invited, all tutorials will undergo a thorough review process.
