Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission is not previously published, or currently submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • The manuscript and other files are sent in established formats, preferably formats included in the Author Guidelines.

  • 1,5 points line spacing. Typeface 11-pt Times New Roman. Headings in 14-pt bold type size. Tables, images, figures and other files are embedded in the text, and numbered.

  • References and citations follow a distinct style. APA 7th is preferred.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • The author/s confirm that all relevant research ethics assessments have been made of the manuscript, and are willing to account for this upon request. (Also see the Guidelines from the national research ethics committees)

Author Guidelines

Submissions may include text, audio, images and/or video material.

Audio and video formats must be suitable for online publishing. Examples (audio): MP3 (preferred), OMF or AAC. Examples (video): H.264, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4.

All submissions must include an abstract of approximately 200 words, and keywords.

All submissions with reference to artistic research must include an element of reflection.

Text based articles should normally not exceed a maximum of 7000 words. Tables and images should be embedded in the manuscript and numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text.

References and citations must follow a distinct style, preferably the APA 7th. Read more here: APA.

Normally, all submissions must be anonymous, i.e. not contain any direct or indirect reference to the author or the author's affiliation. In some special cases this may not be possible, for instance due to the inclusion of audio, images or video material. In such cases the editor will choose the best possible approach to ensure the quality of the peer review process.

Generally, authors must ensure that their manuscripts are langugage-checked and copy-edited.
