Abstract

Co-creation is nothing new, but ownership and legacies seems to surface as a challenge. How can different co-creating processes be evaluated from a design perspective? The background for this essay is the legal processes with several trials around one of the most well-known artefacts in Norway; “Il Tempo Gigante,” initially used in the stop motion-animated feature film “The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix” (“Flåklypa Grand Prix”, 1975), later, in many different versions before Hunderfossen Family Park introduced the roller coaster “Il tempo Extra Gigante.” The essay proposes how a co-creative process could be evaluated through four lenses; Origin, process, recognition and ownership.
