Designdidaktisk forskning i utvikling - en forskningsoversikt 1997-2007

Denne artikkelen gir en oversikt over designdidaktisk forskning som har utviklet seg i Norge i perioden 1997-2007. Da Arkitektur- og designhøgskolen i Oslo (AHO) åpnet sitt doktorgrads-program for kunstnere, designere og undervisere innen dette fagfeltet i 1995, fikk profesjons-praktikere mulighet til å forske innen eget fagfelt. Derfor er de doktoravhandlinger som har blitt avlagt ved AHO av historisk betydning. Artikkelen gir også eksempler på tematisk beslektede doktoravhandlinger som er utviklet innen rammen for andre disipliner som for eksempel pedagogikk og sosiologi. Designdidaktikk ligger i skjæringsfeltet mellom den profesjonelle designers yrkesutøvelse, designteori, materiell kultur i samfunnet, forbruker-aspektet og utdanningsproblematikk. Artikkelen skisserer hvordan feltene er gjensidig påvirket av hverandre gjennom en designdidaktisk akse. Det finnes forholdsvis lite tilgjengelig forskning om problematikk knyttet til den undervisning som gis ved profesjons-utdanningene i design. Dette speiles i artikkelens innhold.
